Dear Spiro Athanas,



   Hello, my name is Zhabrina Gary. After reading your story I realize it's very long. It was a confusing story to me because it is some Spanish parts. The theme of the story is really good. It just takes time to really see the theme.
    When I was little I used to be the baby of the family and didn't take responsibility. But after I got a little brother and sister I had to take care of them. It's like in the in the story the boy owned up and took his daddy's role after his father died. It's just like with me, I realized on my own that I had to be a grown up and take responsibility   for someone else and myself. That is really coming of age. That's when you start too really grow up.
    The theme of the story didn't realize what he had until it was gone. He found out that he loved his father more than he thought. Parents can be very embarrassing.

A Letter Too Gary Soto

Dear Gary Soto, 


  I am Zhabrina Gary. I like this story even if it's kinda hard to understand. But the lesson is a good one. I think it's because I really like coming of age stories.
  When I was little I had real ugly pants. The pants were UGGHHH like nasty. I was mostly worried about what other people would say. Once I didn't care what others say or think' I loved the pants. That was a mature moment. 
  He finally got used to the jacket. "That green ugly brother who breathed over my shoulder that day and ever since." That one quote was the one that made it seem like he got used to what the jacket made him look like. Reaction To Marigolds The Story

So after I read the story " Marigolds " I find that the theme of the story is very interesting. The theme of the story is very special its all about coming of age and how a young adult realize that as a child she was very immature. As the author explain it has been years since she has seen Miss Lottie and that she has passed away. She also expressed that the most unexciting moments she would think of the beautiful marigolds. She also express how as a child she destroyed the marigolds and that the old lady has never planted them again. As the author stated "This was the beginning of compassion, and one cannot have both compassion and innocence."  That is my favorite quote is the whole short story. She seem to have her coming too age moment at a very older age. I wonder when did you have your coming to age moment? Was it anything like the story? As I remember my coming to age moment was when I learned to care about our people feelings and not just my own.

Video Games

    Who ever invented video games should be in the hall of fame for awesomeness. Most people believe that video games are not harmful to children. Playing video games teach kids hand-eye coordination, give us something to do, and they are awesome.
   Video games teach kids hand-eye coordination. When kids play video games they have to make fast decisions and look at their hands and TV at the same time. If you are able to do that you have good hand-eye coordination. If you have good hand-eye coordination, your a beast. I'm just saying a lot of people are not able to do that (look at their hands at TV at the same time) so if your able to do that, that's great. 
    Them amazing things called video games give kids something to do. When you are playing video games you are using your time for something positive. You can easily use that time for gang banging and smoking. Plus most of the time the kids that are smoking and gang banging they are the same ones that don't have video games at the house.
    The most awesome creation is the world is video games. When you ask a number of teenagers how they feel about video games most are going to say there awesome. So why not play video games they're awesome. Awesome things are awesome.
    So i know that video games are awesome and awesome things is not harmful to children. If you wanna find out how great video games are just play a few. Awesome things make the world go round.
